Faith on Fire’ brings together the two subjects that our speakers will be considering at the 2011 Melbourne Youth Conference.

God tells us that our faith is revealed by fire and that our faith will be put under pressure. How will our faith emerge? Is our faith being consumed or will our faith be burning brightly when the Lord returns to the earth? Our theme is all about energizing our faith and making it a living, active and exciting part of our lives, and using it as something that will stand strong until our Lord returns. To our Father in heaven, our faith is so precious and he wants us to develop it as much as we can in this life.

The Fullness of Faith - Bro Joe Miles

Brother Joe will be looking at a study on the fullness of faith. There are so many things that compete with our faith in daily life and we will be considering practical ways that our faith can adapt to these different situations that confront us.

If we consider God’s character, it is forgiving, loving and compassionate, but he also punishes the guilty too. Both are parts of his glory and we should revel in them.

Our faith is the same! It has loving, soft, gentle comforting bits, but it has harder, edgier bits as well! Sometimes we can show our faith by what we don’t do – like Christ not coming down from the cross; but other times it must be active and dynamic – look at the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians!

Modern Christianity has been watered down and had its corners rounded off to try and make it more acceptable to everyone – and it has become bland as a result. We will be sharpening it up again!

The Life of Lot – Bro Matt Norton

Brother Matt will be considering the life of Lot, a character whose faith came under fire! Lot’s generation is so relevant to us because we live in a society that is becoming as wicked and immoral as Sodom & Gomorrah, a society God literally put on fire!
How does our faith stand up in this generation? The life of Lot is full of many valuable lessons that can help us. We will be considering the choices that we make; and we will look at contentment and the consequences of covetousness. These exciting studies will help us to increase our faith and set it on fire in an unfaithful world.
